THE FORMULA

Paint: Warm cream walls provide a soft backdrop for the room's bold teal statement. Skip cool whites or stark neutrals...they can make the color feel disconnected. Look for soft ivory undertones that keep the space feeling warm, balanced, and inviting.

Furniture: Start with the teal sectional as your anchor and resist the urge to match it...the cream chairs are the intentional contrast. A brass-and-glass coffee table keeps the center of the room light and open...heavy wood here would compete with the sectional's visual weight. THE NEVER GUIDE

Never pile faux fur pillows without a texture mix behind them... one faux fur paired with a woven or linen ivory reads intentional layering. All faux fur reads accidental. The difference is one pillow.

Never undersize the rug... a small rug breaks the seating zone apart and makes the sectional feel like it landed randomly. The rug defines the conversation; size it so every front leg sits on it.
